Awarded Contract for Subject Matter Expert
July 23, 2008 – Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Benefits, Medical and Worklife Division (BMWD) awarded its contract for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Drug Testing Program to SimonComputing. The contract calls for the SME to provide statistical, theoretical, and computer programming support to the random drug test selection process. The contract was awarded under SimonComputing's GSA Schedule 70.
Awarded Programming Support Contract
September 9, 2007 – Customs and Border Protection, Benefits, Medical and Worklife Division awarded to SimonComputing a computer programming support contract to update and create tools and reports for providing random drug testing to its employees. The contract will run for 6-months with one option period.
Inc. 500/5000 Ranking of Fastest-Growing Private Companies
August 23, 2007 – Inc. Magazine recently announced its inaugural Inc. 5000 list - an expansion of its annual Inc. 500 survey - of the fastest-growing private companies in the country, ranking SimonComputing at 72 among companies in the DC-VA-MD-WV region and 941 overall.
Specialized in Java/J2EE software development and consulting services, SimonComputing's work includes software development related to customs and border protection within the homeland security arena. Projects include customized application development, embedded chips in passports, and incorporation of biometrics, among others.

Commencement of e-Passport Live Test
January 15, 2006 – Live testing of US-VISIT Increment 2a, e-Passports, began today and will continue through mid-April. This testing assesses the operational impact of the new equipment and software to read and verify the information that is embedded in e-Passports.
SimonComputing staff participated in the development of this pilot application and the public specification used in the e-Passport reader evaluation. This involved ongoing collaboration with various e-Passport vendors and the US-VISIT office.
Received 8(a) Certification
September 15, 2005 – SimonComputing was certified today as a participant in the 8(a) Business Development Program of the U.S. Small Business Administration in Washington, DC. The company is officially classified as a small disadvantaged, woman-owned business.

Deployment of RFID Technology at the Border
August 4, 2005 – US-VISIT Increment 2c, Phase 1 has deployed to five pilot sites, introducing the sites to the use of RFID Technology in I-94 documents. SimonComputing was a key contributor to the development of the workstation applications in this collaborative effort with several other participating vendors. SimonComputing consultants were also part of the on-site tiger teams that ensured a smooth pilot deployment of the applications. Being on-site gave the engineers a real connection to the users of the application.

I-94 Automation
January 3, 2005 – The US-VISIT Increment 2b workstation client has successfully deployed at the top 50 land border sites. This application automates the Form I-94 process at the border while adding a new biometric procedure. This automation eliminates the previously existing manual procedure and reduces overall processing time. SimonComputing provided software development support for this application.
US-VISIT Increment 1 Launched
January 5, 2004 – DHS launched Increment 1 of US-VISIT, a new program to enhance national security while facilitating legitimate travel and trade. New entry procedures go into effect today for most foreign visitors with non-immigrant visas at 115 airports and 14 seaports. The system uses biometrics to verify identity.
SimonComputing provided software development services to build the workstation application delivered to the airports and seaports.
Certified as a Small Disadvantaged Business
December 31, 2003 – SimonComputing has been certified as a Small Disadvantaged Business under the US Small Business Administration guidelines.
