SimonComputing Achieves CMMI Level 2
June 3, 2009 – SimonComputing, Inc. has been appraised at CMMI-DEV Maturity Level 2 of CMMI (R) v 1.2 by an SEI-authorized Lead Appraiser. A SCAMPI appraisal confirmed that the process implemented by the DTOPS Project satisfies the requirements of Maturity Level 2 of the CMMI for Development, version 1.2. The CMMI Level 2 appraisal is an important milestone on the company's process improvement journey. "We sought CMMI as a path for process improvement rather than merely a certificate of quality. trusted traveler programs, web-enabled enrollment systems, and incorporation
of biometrics/RFID, the firm has almost doubled its technical staff while
continuing its commitment to simplifying the process of developing effective,

Subject Matter Expert
July 23, 2008 – Customs and Border Protection (CBP),
Benefits, Medical and Worklife Division (BMWD) awarded its contract for a
Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Drug Testing Program to SimonComputing,
Inc.(SCI). The contract calls for the SME to provide statistical, theoretical, and computer
programming support to the random drug test selection process.
The contract was awarded under SCI’s GSA Schedule 70.
SCI awarded Programming Support Contract
September 9, 2007 – Customs and Border Protection, Benefits, Medical
and Worklife Division awarded to SimonComputing, Inc. a computer programming
support contract to update and create tools and reports for providing random
drug testing to its employees. The contract runs for 6-months with one option period.
Inc. 500/5000 Ranking of Fastest-Growing Private Companies
August 23, 2007 – Inc. Magazine recently announced its inaugural
Inc. 5000 list - an expansion of its annual Inc. 500 survey - of the fastest-growing
private companies in the country, ranking SimonComputing, Inc. at 72 among companies
in the DC-VA-MD-WV region, and 941 overall.
Specialized in Java/J2EE software development and consulting services, SimonComputing's
work includes software development related to customs and border protection within the
homeland security arena. Projects include customized application development, embedded
chips in passports, and incorporation of biometrics, among others.

e-Passport Live Test
January 15, 2006 – Live testing of US-VISIT Increment 2a, e-Passports, began
today and continues through mid-April. This testing assesses the operational
impact of this new equipment and software to read and verify the information
that is embedded in the e-Passport.
SimonComputing staff participated in the development of this pilot application
and the public specification used in the e-Passport reader evaluation.
This involved ongoing collaboration with various e-Passport vendors and the US-VISIT office.
8(a) Certification
September 15, 2005 – SimonComputing was certified today as a
participant in the 8(a) Business Development Program of the U.S. Small Business
Administration in Washington, DC. It is classified as a small disadvantaged, woman owned business.

RFID Technology at the Border
August 4, 2005 – US-VISIT Increment 2c, Phase 1 was deployed to five pilot sites
introducing them to the use of RFID Technology in I-94 documents. SimonComputing was a key
contributor to the development of the workstation applications in this collaborative effort
with several other participating vendors.
SimonComputing consultants were part of the on-site tiger teams that ensured a smooth pilot
deployment of the applications. Being on-site gave the engineers a real connection to the users of the application.

I-94 Automation
January 3, 2005 – The US-VISIT Increment 2b workstation client was successfully
deployed at the top 50 land border sites. This application automates the Form I-94 process at
the border while adding a new biometric procedure. This automation eliminates the previously
existing manual procedure and reduces overall processing time.
SimonComputing provided software development support for this application.
US-VISIT Increment 1
January 5, 2004 – DHS launches Increment 1 of US-VISIT, a new program
to enhance national security while facilitating legitimate travel and trade.
New entry procedures go into effect today for most foreign visitors with non-immigrant
visas at 115 airports and 14 seaports. The system uses biometrics to verify identity.
SimonComputing provided software development services to build the workstation
application delivered to the airports and seaports.
Small Disadvantaged Business
December 31, 2003 – SimonComputing was certified as a Small Disadvantaged
Business under US Small Business Administration guidelines.
